Historically, Coach Swinney has often waited until after the bowl game to make such decisions, viewing these games as integral to the season. Remember how Billy Napier's departure was finalized after a bowl game loss, and the same pattern followed with Kevin Steele and Brandon Streeter?
The exception that proves the rule: Thomas Austin's departure as offensive line coach before the 2023 Gator Bowl, paving the way for Matt Luke.
Clemson's bowl assignment and postseason opponent will be revealed this Sunday, adding another layer of intrigue. The team is already in motion, with Coach Swinney holding meetings with players. We already know that linebacker Dee Crayton will enter the transfer portal on January 2nd, when it officially opens.
Crayton joins former safety Shelton Lewis, who left the team in October. And this is the part most people miss... Several more players are expected to follow Crayton and Lewis.
